Urban Sprawl Symptoms in Makassar City

Abstract Urban sprawl symptoms are characterized by the phenomenon of expansion urban functional areas into fringe areas. The residential area Bumi Tamalanrea Permai Makassar showed symptoms, where dynamics densification and dualistic region’s growth have exceeded supporting capacity basic availability infrastructure in area. This article was intended to explore processes, activities, analysis using a mixed quantitative qualitative/mixed methods approach. research results show that there has been densification, settlements, gated beyond boundaries, changes pattern transformation physical spatial functions toward such way they form sprawl.
